Our Mission is: To foster a partnership between the parents and school staff that will aid the school in carrying out its educational program.
The Home and School Association is our "Parent Organization" here at St. John School. As a parent you are automatically part of the Home and School Association. Our purpose is to create a successful partnership between parents and school, so together we can help provide a quality education for all children at St. John School.
Throughout the year, we ask for volunteers to help with special events and fundraising. All profits from these events and fundraisers are used to fulfill extra needs of the school and teachers which are not covered by the school budget.
We appreciate all of our volunteers because without you this could not be done!

Hometown Christmas Craft Sale - Annual Fall Event
Held in November, this is our largest fundraiser for the year. This event includes vendors, bake sale, turkey luncheon, and the very popular Theme Basket Raffle and Silent Auction. Each classroom and groups of staff members are assigned a theme. We ask for parent volunteers to assist with the collection of basket items and also to participate in the basket assembly night to arrange the collections. All of St. John School and Parish come together for this great community event. Volunteer sign up sheets are sent home in the October family envelope. Please look for this information and join us for this wonderful event!
Home and School runs a "burger and hot dog" booth at the "Great Wisconsin Cheese Festival" sponsored by the Village of Little Chute. This event is held the first weekend in June at Doyle Park. It is a great family event and requires many volunteers to run the booth for the entire weekend event. Volunteer sign up is sent home in the May family envelope.
Each year Home and School sponsors events for students, parents and staff of St. John School. These events are listed below.
Hot Dog Day - This event is held once a month and is enjoyed by all!
Pizza and Ice Cream Social - This family event is held on the Tuesday evening of Catholic Schools Week each year. Our organization sells pizza and dishes up free ice cream for sundaes. Also included in this night is kids games and raffles. This event is special to Home and School because it is our way of giving back to all who give so much, making St. John School a wonderful place!
Staff Dinner during Parent/Teacher Conferences - Each year, Home and School provides dinner for the teachers during the Fall Parent/Teacher Conferences. It is our way of showing how much we appreciate our teachers while they are working the late hours!
Teacher and Staff Christmas Luncheon - A special Holiday Luncheon each year for Staff at St. John School and Parish. This event is held on the last day of school before Christmas Break. This is our special gift to all of the hard working staff at St. John Nepomucene.
Secret Santa Shop for Students - This sale is held in December. It gives all students a chance to purchase gifts priced between 50 cents and 5 dollars for loved ones. The students receive "shopping envelopes" prior to the sale giving parents the ability to designate how much their child can spend on each person they would like to shop for. The purchases are gift wrapped or bagged. Some of the gifts include personalized ornaments, Packer/Badger items, candles, and 100's of other items picked out especially by the children to give to their loved ones! This is a special event for the students and for Home and School. We receive several calls each year from happy recipients about how much they loved their gifts!
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Luncheon - This is held in conjunction with the National Teacher/ Staff Appreciation Week. It is a luncheon that all parents are offered the opportunity to make a special dish to pass or donate money to this special event. Each staff member of St. John School and Parish are individually invited to this special luncheon which is held in the Msgr. Jim Room. It is one day that parent helpers "takeover" the office, playground, and classrooms while other volunteers serve this special lunch to our great staff allowing them to enjoy a few hours of together time and a great meal provided by the parents!
Babysitting Clinic - Home and School along with Affinity Health sponsor a babysitting clinic for students ages 10 ½ to 13 at St. John School. This is a great program for all new "sitters".
