CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD
Liturgy of the Word for Children is offered at all weekend Masses for children ages 4 to 9. Here they will experience age-appropriate activities such as singing, listening to the weekly readings, and doing a follow-up activity. Children are dismissed from Sunday Liturgy before the readings to go to the Msgr. Jim Room, and children return to their families before the Eucharist begins.
For those too young to attend Children's Liturgy, we the First Step Children's Program!
FIRST STEPS Children's Program
Each weekend, at all three liturgies, we have a safe and comfortable space for our youngest children and their parents. This is a carpeted area with play things for the children that will be set up in the Fellowship Hall in front of a screen showing mass. Parents or caregivers may take their children to this area when they feel the child/children are becoming restless. After a time when the wiggles have calmed, parents and children are encouraged to return to the assembly.
Also new this year for the First Steps Children's Program is a drop-off ministry room for your 18-month to 3-year old children. This is located in Room 111, which is down the hall from the Fellowship Hall, and is staffed at every 8:00 am and 10:00 am Mass. While you will be praying in church, your toddler will be playing with a purpose. Short prayers, worship songs, Jesus coloring pages and bible stories will fill their hour!
All children are also welcome to grab a busy bag, which is located on a standing rack in the main entrance and also at the Information Desk. They can be brought in to church for those kids that need a little distraction so their parents can continue to worship.
We hope to see you soon! If you are also interested in volunteering with this exciting ministry, please contact or email the parish office at 788-9061 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
