Practicing the Faith….What Does That Mean?
As Christians, we choose to follow Christ’s teachings through the practice of our Faith. It is a lifelong journey, with the reward of ultimate happiness. Below is an overview of what it means to “Practice the Faith”. Use it as a guide to compare against your life and know that St. John Nepomucene offers many resources to help you. In summary, "Practicing the Faith" means you:
- Have Faith by praying for it as a gift from God.
- Learn Christ’s teachings.
- Receive God’s grace, mainly through the Sacraments and prayer. Through His grace you have the knowledge and strength to do His will, and receive forgiveness for your sins.
- Dedicate your daily efforts to loving God and others.
The practice of the Faith is a natural response to God’s great gifts to us, and also brings great rewards. Know that every person can practice their faith daily, while still having a normal working and family life. “I am come that they may have life, and may have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10)
